Seats of Inspiration celebrates 80 years of Ekornes comfort innovation by sharing its high-tech luxury Stressless® seating with organizations known for revolutionary thought, creativity and ingenuity.
The latest host, co.lab, partners with startups, leveraging the power of digital games to build transformative educational technologies for PK-12 students and teachers.
The innovation lab’s eight
Stressless Dream recliners and personal laptop tables provide a collaboration, relaxation and meeting space for co.lab’s resident companies.
“A tremendous amount of creativity goes into the process of developing new educational technologies,” said Cameron White, associate director at co.lab. “We’re partnering with Ekornes Seats of Inspiration because of our shared focus on innovation and the power of creative thought.”
co.lab’s model is based on a series of cohorts during which innovators from leading technology and education companies collaborate to share ideas and develop new initiatives. Seats of Inspiration is present for the third cohort, which includes companies founded by educators, technologists, game developers, school founders, researchers from the University of Wisconsin and the University of California, and a member of President Obama’s Advisory Council on Financial Capability for Young Americans.
“Seats of Inspiration is designed to encourage the free-flow of great ideas,” said Beverly Kastel, Ekornes marketing manager. “Partnering with co.lab to help evolve educational tools is a valued opportunity for Ekornes.”
This is the third stop for Seats of Inspiration, which launched at downtown Boston think-lab, Winsper in July and spent time in Knoxville, Tennessee at the Congressional Medal of Honor Convention in September.
